Menswear Style x Ted Baker x LPA

We are super excited to introduce this Ted Baker styling photoshoot collaboration with you! We first got to know about Ella Catliff, Founder of La Petite Anglaise when we were both nominated for Fashion Monitor’s Fashion Blogger of the Year award this year.

Representing the two ends of the fashion industry, we spoke about how there hasn’t been many male/female blogger collaborations and how with our high popularity and influence, we could collaborate with brands and do something great... and so we made it happen!

Ted Baker was straight on our shortlist of brands after seeing their recent AW13 runway show. With an hours worth of impressive menswear and womenswear on the catwalk, we were excited about the direction they’re heading in.

MWS readers will also know we’ve partnered with Ted in the past, at their ‘Debonair Dinner’ and they’re one of our favourite brands.

Craig Landale, the founder of MWS styled himself in two Ted Baker looks and headed to West London with Ella Catliff and photographer Zane Colquhoun for the project:

“I picked out a daytime outfit with heritage and a country style in mind. I often spend my autumn weeks on weekend trips to boutique hotels in the countryside, and spend the days layered up walking through villages and visiting rustic pubs to warm up with mulled wine sat in front of a log burning fire. This outfit would be spot on and if it was particularly cold or rainy I’d simply add a wax jacket. The purple colourway of the chinos combine very well with the purple lines in the jacket and the purple pocket square. Also the navy polka dot print features throughout the outfit... on the pocket of the chinos, back of the waistcoat and also on the pocket of the waistcoat.”

“For the second outfit, post work dinner, drinks and trips to the theatre were my inspirations. In London people tend to go straight out after work since there is often little time to commute home to change outfits before heading out again. The style is very refined and I’ve combined the trending grey-on-grey with classic blacks whilst adding a playful side via the satchel bag and the navy dog print tie. Simply removing the tie would dress this style down for a more casual look.”
