TRIWA Autumn/Winter 2015 Collection

Smartwatches have been trickling onto the market for years, and this March saw the launch of the much talked about Apple Watch. It feels like people have forgotten the art of wearing a beautifully crafted, timeless watch that functions ultimately to tell the time. The flurry of announcements in the tech world does not excite me as much as coming across beautiful timepieces to add to my collection. I was very happy to find out more about TRIWA and their new AW15 collection.

Founded in 2007, TRIWA is a young and independent watch and accessories brand dedicated to transforming the perception of the status symbol into a symbol of style. All TRIWA watches and accessories are born in their creative studio in Stockholm, where the city’s stark landscapes, diverse architecture and inquisitive people are the foundation for innovation. Each TRIWA product is a thoughtful juxtaposition of classic silhouettes, Swedish contemporary design and curated materials.

TRIWA is a movement much like time itself – always evolving, never standing still, so with that being said the arrival of the AW15 collection, now available at TRIWA retailers around the world and online at TRIWA.com. For Autumn/Winter 2015 TRIWA spent many hours digging through watch archives and collections from the 1960s and 1970s. The result is a mix of contemporary silhouettes paired with classic colours such as eggshell white, navy blue, hints of black with bright blue and red details – much like you’d find on your favourite pair of vintage tennis shoes.

My personal favourite is the OCEAN NEVIL BROWN SEWN CLASSIC 2, this unisex watch features a light grey enamel dial with navy blue sub dials and a contrasting orange second hand, silver hour index markers and an inner ring displaying seconds. The watch is set within a polished stainless steel case teamed with a brown leather band with contrasting stitches in white made by Swedish tannery Tärnsjö. It's a perfect versatile accessory for the suited gentleman, or if you want to add some elegance to your casual attire.

TRIWA have also teamed up well-known fashion photographer Martin Vallin for this seasons campaign images which reflect a cool Scandinavian attitude and incorporate scenes from TRIWA’s hometown of Stockholm.
