The Best Colouring Books for Men

Adult colouring books are a thing? Ok so they are a thing. Much like dudes in their mid-forties turning up to Star Wars films dressed as Chewbacca, maybe it shouldn't be a thing and maybe we should all know better. But like I say to my Nephew and Niece all the time, don't date anyone that can seven-ball you at pool. I also tell them that variety is the spice of life. So let's start with a look at the rundown of the best Male colouring books out there right now.

THE UNOFFICIAL DRAKE COLOURING BOOK

The Drake Colouring Book charts the life, times and Music of Aubrey Drake Graham. Or Drizzy as he is affectionately known. Also referred to as the ultimate lover (possibly self-proclaimed). 15 different illustrators have teamed up for a stripped back, no-thrills presentation of the many facets of Drizzy. Perfect for any Drizzy fan wanting to put their own inflection on the much-adored superstar.

THE RYAN GOSLING COLOURING BOOK

Mel Elliot has simply cracked it. Is there anything better in the world than doodling all over Ryan Gosling? Mel has captured Ryan's charm and whilst it seems sacrilege to sully Ryan's beautiful face with something so crude as a crayon, we must remember that art begets art no matter how bad. Also check out the rest of the books in the Colour me Good series such as, Eddie Redmayne, James Franco, Benedict Cumberbatch and Jamie Dornan.

A COLOURING GUIDE TO CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL

Now you can fuse your love of animals with colouring in, allowing your imagination to run riot. A Colouring Guide to Creatures Great and Small features animals from all corners of the globe – from exotic fish to big cats to incredible insects – with information on each species included on the reverse of each print. Why not give each masterpiece away as presents (depending on how good you are. Remember, not every drawing is worthy of putting up on the fridge). With 36 prints to work with, this colouring book will certainly keep you company on your commute.

TO THE MOON: THE TALLEST COLOURING BOOK IN THE WORLD

Anyone in their mid-thirties will have fond memories of the TV show Button Moon. It had the most catchiest theme tune on the planet (close second 'Maybe Tomorrow' - The Littlest Hobo). So there is an undoubted air of nostalgia saddled with this moon themed colouring book. Climb up to the moon with this amazing fold-out colouring book, the tallest in the world, 15ft (Who is going to question that?) - I guess if you don't have the floor space then you can curl it up the chimney for safe keeping. Colour an amazing tower, all the way from your house down on the ground, past dragons, witches, space ports and flying elephants, to reach the moon at the very top.

THE TATTOO COLOURING BOOK

Packed with stunning illustrations, this unique colouring book celebrates the art of the tattoo. The tattoo designs – all specially drawn for the book – range from traditional motifs – hearts, sailors, girls, skulls, roses – to more elaborate compositions with a contemporary edge. There is also a full colour, double page pull out artwork in the centre of the book which is very cool.

Peter Brooker
