David Gandy’s Top Style Tips for Summer 2017

Supermodel David Gandy has told British men not to be so stuffy and uptight this summer… and unbutton their shirts. British style icon Gandy, shared some top clothing tips as we continue to bask in the brilliant sunshine and sizzling temperatures. The 37-year-old star, who has been voted Britain’s most stylish and best dressed man by GQ magazine, advised: “Don’t be shy about taking your buttons down a little further on your shirts and roll those sleeves up to help stay cooler. Look to items in a lightweight cotton, or even better, linen. This way you can look and feel smart, without overheating.”

“In summer it’s nice to stick to pastel tones - creams and whites -paired with some khaki chinos or trousers. You’ll feel ready for the Riviera.” Speaking as the ambassador for London Sock Company, who are on course to exceed a million in revenue in 2017, he said quality socks were in vogue at the moment, particularly at weddings. “Statement socks are really having a moment right now but it is so important to get it right.”

“If the groomsmen are wearing similar or same attire, a sophisticated touch would be for them to all be wearing matching socks. It’s a detail that doesn’t go overlooked. Grooms can use the embroidery service to add personalisation for each individual, which is a really lovely sentimental touch when gifting to a best man and groomsmen. I believe in keeping wedding attire classic and understated. Pocket squares and socks however are a great way to add some detail, colour and individuality, whatever your role as a guest or groom.”
