Ways Men Should Style Up This Christmas

This is just the last month of the year and people are busy with the last minute preparations for Christmas day. So whether you are planning to gather some time with your friends at the pub or simply sit down in front of the fire at home, you need to set your wardrobe right for the festive celebrations.

Christmas Eve Traditions

With Christmas comes the party feeling and we're sure you will have friends asking you to join them for a glass of mulled cider and whisky. In short, you need to look right for the occasion by wearing the right gear and leaving a long lasting impression on others. You will always have your friends around you and you may even end up seeing old friends from years back. This is the time of the year when you can show off your style. One favourite Christmas Eve tradition is to have a few drinks with family or friends and just kick off the season with a bang. Try to wear something that will balance and be sure you don’t go too much casual too. Here's a few ideas to get you started:

The Christmas Jumper

Now this is one of the classics which people get out every December. Be warned not to go too over the top as there is a thin line between tasteful and tacky (stay away from anything too novelty, especially if it flashes and makes noises). Opt for one with a festive print such as fair isle which is much more on trend and stylish. You can easily find a good number of options to choose from and yes, check out this Ted Baker sale for some discounts.

Smart Casual

For a number of men, getting the casual look right is the biggest struggle. It's important to get the right balance between the casual components. One of the best ways to get the right look is wearing clean and simple trainers. You need to choose the right colour and opt for black, grey or white. Pairing a white shirt, camel overcoat and a pair of grey trousers is a great look. Switch up your trainers with loafers and you are ready for the office party! The most versatile white shirt for the festive season is the mighty Oxford shirt. Check out the Barbour sale online for some bargains.

Roll Necks

Adding roll necks to the outfit will make your casual look a bit smarter. You can wear it either for the family dinner or for the night celebrating with friends. If the elements are a little on the chilly side, simply add a wool overcoat and a T-shirt (underneath) with your roll neck. In terms of colours, stick to neutral shades to help you strike the right balance.

Layering

If the weather is super frosty it's time to layer up. Opt for a cardigan instead of a waistcoat or opt for a jumper instead of a shirt. Don’t think too hard, just try out a few ideas to see what looks good - when worn right, you will see what works. Christmas is the time for people to get together and rejoice. Just be sure you style up right for the occasion and miss no fun!
