Discover April 2018’s Coolest Stuff

Woah, so summer has somehow arrived in April. I’m not one to complain but it’s a quick reminder of how dangerously hot a bedroom can get in London which inevitably leads to a lack of sleep. Any portable air conditioning unit recommendations anyone!? Jokes aside, I’ve come across some pretty slick product releases this month. There’s a sneaker made out of pineapple leaves and a fragrance with notes of seaweed and salt. So, following on from our March round-up, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite products and releases for the month of April 2018 – enjoy.

Hugo Boss Vegan Shoe

Hugo Boss have announced a new Boss Menswear shoe produced with Piñatex, a natural based material made of pineapple leaf fibers. The project is part of an ongoing commitment to innovation across the company’s offering as well as a continuous search for more sustainable ways to design, source, produce and finish its products. Harvested as a byproduct of existing agriculture, the leaves require no extra resources to grow, furthermore providing farming communities with an additional income.

Making the Cut Book

Richard Anderson’s second book ‘Making the Cut' introduces the traditional craft of cutting a bespoke suit and garments, showcasing twenty-five classic menswear designs that have been creatively adapted in new and unusual ways for the modern gentleman. Each piece has its own story from a rakish red and white seersucker coat to a show-stopping black sequined dinner jacket, and explores the fascinating history of the diverse fabrics and cuts. Original sketches, patterns and photographs reveal the time, dedication and precision that go into creating a truly custom-made piece throughout the book.

The B&O PLAY Spring/Summer 2018 Collection consists of a seasonal range of limited edition premium headphones and speakers inspired by the vibrant and powerful colours of the ocean. The SS18 Collection invites people to be inspired by the products and their colours, to take time to roam, to explore and find space by the ocean. In this beautiful and ever-changing environment, shaped by the motion of the sea, powerful and refreshing, yet calm and peaceful, the individual finds the music, the time and the energy to be transformed by the experience. To make waves.

Art de Parfum Sea Foam

Art de Parfum’s Sea Foam is the perfect summer essential with iodic notes of seaweed and salt that conjures up a purifying seascape, allowing you to drift away on a wave of lactonic sandalwood, fig leaf and weathered woods. A true splash into the ocean, this is perfect for those beach getaways; a revitalising and refreshing experience triggered by a single spray. Sea Foam is part of Art de Parfum’s collection of beautiful fine fragrances each offering the wearer a truly individual sensory experience.

NOM Spring/Summer 2018 Capsule

The ‘Twisted Glamour’ capsule by NOM draws inspiration from Americana at it’s finest/worst. With nods to the hedonistic excess of Studio 54, and the psychotic ‘love story’ of Oliver Stone’s ‘Natural Born Killers’, the collection is designed to highlight the grim underbelly beneath the fronted ‘Goodlife’ that so many of us ‘appear’ to be living out in social media and in the media today, and that things are often never as great as they seem on the surface.

ChattyFeet Socks

As two playful types the founders thought that life gets a bit too serious at times. So it soon became their mission to inject more fun into people’s lives through their characterful ChattyFeet socks. Originally their cheery designs were meant for adults, with Prof. Brian Sox, Mr. Grrrril, Miko and Murdoc shaking up the sock drawers of men and women everywhere. But why should adults have all the fun? Kids love ChattyFeet too! Now you’ll notice there’s a mini-me pair of every character; just the ticket for a spot of sock puppetry or a toe-tapping adventure with the family.

The Dalmore 45 Year-Old Whisky

Definitive single malt whisky maker, The Dalmore, is releasing a refined new single malt, The Dalmore 45, to add to its exceptional collection. The Dalmore 45 has been hand crafted by Master Distiller Richard Paterson who has used some of the distillery’s rarest aged liquids to create what Richard himself has described as ‘flawless perfection’. Initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, the liquid has then been transferred into two different Vintage Graham’s Port Colheita pipes dating from 1961 and 1963 to create layers of flavour, which are indulgent, smooth and complex.

Homebody Pyjamas

Homebody is a luxury sleepwear brand that makes high-quality designer loungewear and pyjamas for the whole family. Their pyjamas are handmade in Britain and come in calm tones and a relaxed fit to encourage the mind and body to relax and slowly drift off to sleep. The beauty of these lightweight designer pyjamas is that they allow the body to move freely during the night. The first Men’s loungewear capsule collection is designed with a tranquil simplicity and is handmade in the UK. Luxury retailer Harrods stocks the collection which quickly sells out, so be quick to get yours. I'm currently wearing the Cuff Pyjama Trouser as I type this and can honestly say the Modal-Sens fabric is unbelievably soft.
