Introducing Benedict Raven Luxury Menswear

You possibly wouldn't expect someone who has built a successful award-winning recruitment company to be interested in starting a new menswear label. However, this is exactly what 36-year-old entrepreneur, James Kingston, has done with his new British brand, named Benedict Raven, which he launched this month on 1st October. It is clear Kingston is not holding back with his new venture as he is determined to create an exclusive premium menswear label; "I’m a very driven person as I have been with my first business which is still a large part of my life. My goal with Benedict Raven is to become the leading online luxury clothing brand for men in the next decade".

Coming from a corporate business background, he has worked alongside fellow well-dressed men who realise the importance of looking and feeling good in their clothes. Through personal frustration of not being able to find exactly what he was looking for to fill his wardrobe, he saw the need for sophisticated clothing that can act as an alternative to wearing a suit day in, day out.

James started working on his ideas back in March 2017 when he began talking to experts and fashion designers. He aspires to maintain his British heritage by using British designers and manufacturers throughout the production process, with high quality materials. Aimed at professional modern men, the collection (aptly named 'Timeless') consists of blazers, knitwear, shirts and denim which can be worn together for a smart or casual look. Each piece has been designed with a slim fit and from browsing through the lookbook, the knitwear (available in polo, roll and v-neck styles) are ideal for someone who is confident about their physique. These knits are made from soft-touch 100% merino wool - in muted tones of black, grey and oatmeal - and the only embellishment is the simple and subtle Benedict Raven signature feather logo embroidered on the chest. This emblem is intended to represent the brand's ethos of 'aiming high and flying higher'.

There are two single-breasted blazers in the collection; one being 100% British wool and the other is a wool blend. Both blazers close with two buttons and are available in sizes 38-44. These can be worn simply over a pair of chinos or over a pair of one of Benedict Raven's slim-fit jeans. Produced in a deep blue wash and blended with a hint of stretch for comfort, their denim is considered as an essential part of a gentleman's wardrobe. Wear one of the classic 100% crisp cotton white shirts to complete a refined and polished look. The plain shirt has matching branded buttons, a feather jacquard trim and the feather on the chest. Kingston named his brand after his alter-ego, created from a young age, and these pieces will fit perfectly into a city workers wardrobe for a possible option during the week, as well as weekend attire. The clean lines and classic cut are intended to create a stylish character who is full of confidence and aiming for success.

The Timeless collection is currently available online and prices start at £110. To find out more, have a browse over their Instagram (@benedictravenuk) or sign up to their newsletter for an insight into their future plans and members only offers.
