Discover February 2019’s Coolest Stuff

With the spring season creeping in its time to start thinking about all the threads you’ll be donning when the sun is shining. This month I’ve come across a bunch of cool releases that’ll take you right through to summer. We have transition lenses, a watch from the film Interstellar and vegan-friendly shower gels. So, following on from my January roundup, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite products and releases for the month of February 2019 – enjoy.

Jacques Silbert Bespoke Leather

Jacques Silbert is a new bespoke brand making timeless leather crafts. The cool thing about this brand is that you will be able to design your leather products using their state-of-the-art design tool and they will handcraft the products following your specifications. The mission of this new brand is to let your style break free so you can wear the purest expression of who you are in every step you take. Something that carries not only your belongings but your signature and your own personal touch.

Louis Vuitton Taïgarama Collection

Louis Vuitton's new leather goods line Taïgarama is made from Taïga leather and is paired with the Monogram canvas across a range of colourful and wearable styles. Louis Vuitton’s spirit of travel and savoir-faire are combined with a new 'casual' energy that modernises masculine codes. In a unique blend of relaxed and classic chic, resistant and sophisticated Taïga leather is combined with the Monogam canvas in a graphic mix of materials. From bags to accessories, the collection offers a variety of supple, urban, contemporary shapes. The iconic Keepall and the Discovery Backpack with leather straps create a dialogue with an Outdoor Messenger bag, easy to wear thanks to an adjustable strap, and a mini Bumbag. A Horizon cabin bag, Discovery zip pouches, compact wallets and flexible cardholders add a final touch to the collection.

The travelling soul at the very core of the Brand heads out to explore the ocean this season. To start the adventure, Woolrich offers technical performance garments and work-wear with refreshing, contemporary cuts. The convertible pieces and multifunctional layers easily adapt to the different use conditions and to the changing seasons: from city streets to the great outdoors. A key partner is Gore-Tex with its Paclite fabric; an extremely lightweight and waterproof layer that keeps you warm, successfully achieving maximum results with minimum weight. Completing the 3-in-1 construction is a detachable vest with 90/10 down fill and visible chevron quilting to ensure the right balance between aesthetics and functionality.

Protest Men’s SS19 Collection

Protest have been inspired by the idea of Shangri-La – a paradise here on earth, a summer utopia. Protest’s Utopia is a place where there’s a great swell, the sun is shining and the sand is between your toes. In their utopia, the party is always in full swing. Wearing your favourite festival outfit, sitting on the grass and listening to your favourite band – you are where you want to be. The collection echoes, fun-loving vibes in their print and technique, doing what Protest does best - combining function with street style - clothes that can take you from the surf to the street without having to change.

Transitions Lenses at Cubitts

The latest introduction to the UK market from leading adaptive lens specialist, Transitions Optical, comes in the form of the 'Style Colours' collection. We got to experience this first-hand recently at Cubitts' Soho store in London, and this exciting launch is the first for the brand in a number of years. A new collection of four style-driven lens colours – Amethyst, Sapphire, Emerald and Amber – joins the existing functional palette of iconic colours of Grey, Brown and Graphite Green. Like all Transitions lenses, the new collection seamlessly adapts from clear to dark when exposed to UV light. As well as offering a unique, stylish way for wearers to express themselves, the launch aims to bring Transitions lenses to a younger consumer.

London Labs Skincare for Hair

Drawing on 20+ years in the global beauty business and leveraging a background in both pharmaceutical science and the beauty industry, the London Labs founders' vision has been to make the science cool and digestible, creating a curated line up that provides a modern wearable aesthetic. After 5 years in gestation, the brand successfully merges skincare science with haircare and a definitive 'no makeup look' for hair. Deriving the heavy-lifting ingredients from nature, then supercharging them in the lab has resulted in 14 must-haves with a potency rarely seen outside a dermatologist’s surgery. Put simply, they took the best of skincare science and reworked it for hair. The range pivots on the oil of the Prickly Pear fruit – a potent dry oil, grown exclusively for London Labs on the high grassland plains of South Africa. It nourishes and replenishes unlike any other beauty oil thanks to high levels of linoleic acid, which most closely resembles the fatty acids of our own skin.

Hamilton Khaki Murph Watch

In 2014, the futuristic blockbuster Interstellar hit the cinema, captivating audiences with its special effects, intriguing plot and the love story between a father and his daughter. The Hamilton Khaki Field Murph is one of the main emotional links between the two main characters. ‘The Murph’ is the affectionate name given by fans of the movie to the Hamilton watch that stars in the film and is integral to the plot. No other movie appearance epitomises the importance of Hamilton’s Hollywood collaboration quite like ‘the Murph’ in Interstellar.

Canada Goose Presents Project Atigi

Honouring and recognising the traditions of the culture and craftsmanship of Northern Canadian communities, Canada Goose invited 14 Inuit sewers from across the North to create unique parkas representative of their history and heritage. The pieces are one-of-a-kind and will be sold exclusively at canadagoose.com. What’s more, one of the coats from the collection is being displayed at the Canada Goose Regent Street flagship store for a limited period of time.

This partnership will be a representation of the open-minded values of each brand, unveiled to the creative atmosphere of London’s Soho. Bringing high-fashion to the high-street, Michiko Koshino has designed a uniform for Wagamama’s Noodle Lab

What’s more, these shower gels come in an oversize 500ml and 1L bottles to cut down on the amount of packaging per wash.
