How to Come Out of Lockdown a New Man

Lockdown has been a strange time for many people, and while restrictions are easing and life is slowly returning to a new normal, it is not over yet. But what is your new normal? Lockdown has given people time to spend with their kids that they might not have normally had. It has given them more time with their partners, and with no football or pubs as a distraction, has it made you think about what you really want from life? If you want things to change or there are certain goals you want to achieve, then why not use the lockdown to become a new man?

Work on Your Goals

Whether you have been furloughed, made redundant or lost your job, it’s highly likely that you have more time right now, time to think and time to work on your goals. So, why not use this time wisely and educate yourself on whatever you need to to get your dream job, or to open your dream business? Start by writing down your goals and do something small each day to reach them. It doesn’t have to be much, but just making a start will make you feel good and help you to make progress while life is on pause.

Try a new look

While it’s still tricky to get piercings for tongue bars or tattoos right now, lockdown is the perfect time to grow a beard to see how it looks on you. Why not grow your hair, shave your head or dye your hair? You don’t have to go outside, there are no face-to-face client meetings, so if you’ve ever been curious about any of the above, then now is the time to give it a go.

Save Money

If you are still working from home and getting paid in full, then you should be saving money on travelling to work, expensive coffees and nice lunches, so put this money aside so that when we return to the new normal, you have a pot of savings. Plus, when and if you do return to work, you might realise how much money you have saved and forgo those treats, and continue to save money.

Work on your fitness

Covid-19 has made a lot of people rethink their health and lifestyle, and with nothing else to do, this is the perfect time to focus on your fitness. Whether it’s working out at home, taking up running or cycling or spending that money you’re saving on an online personal trainer. If you give yourself a kick start now, then you have more chance of sticking to your new routine when you do return to work.

Enjoy it

While it’s very easy to feel down at a time like this - because it is a challenging time after all - it’s also a time which you are unlikely to experience ever again. This means that you should try your best to enjoy it, whether it’s staying in bed, enjoying being at home, spending time with the people you live with or enjoying time on your own - try to see some positives and enjoy this time where you can.
