June 2022’s Best Men’s Grooming Drops

Sun, remember that? It’s back and so is your summer wardrobe. Let’s get our grooming game in order, and make sure you’re wearing SPF! I want the BBQ sizzling, not your skin! With that in mind, here’s my top picks of the best grooming drops this month!

Jusbox - Good Morning

Jusbox merge perfume with the world of music, and each fragrance is created with a song, genre, or artist in mind. Their latest release is Good Morning, inspired by “Morning Mood” which was composed by Edvard Grieg. The scent is a refreshing morning breakfast by the sea, with notes of tangerine and sea breeze opening proceedings. A floral heart of magnolia and Egyptian violet leaf is warm yet crisp, sat upon a base of cashmeran and cold musk. Good Morning is a perfect scent to spend your summer days wearing.

Available from Selfridges - £125

SK:N Facial Exfoliating Cleanser

If you’re ready to take your skincare routine to the next level, you need to try this Facial Exfoliating Cleanser from SK:N. With a combination of Glycolic and Salicylic Acid, it cleanses, exfoliates, softens, and soothes your skin in one fell swoop. As endorsements go, I can give no higher than to say that this cleanser leaves my skin feeling incredible and will be part of my daily routine from this day forward. Treat your skin, treat yourself.

Buly - Eau Triple Saint Joseph Charpentier

A collaboration between Buly and the Louvre to create 8 perfumes with inspiration from 8 pieces of art. Joseph the Carpenter is an oil painting by George de La Tour, if you’ve not seen it, google it. The fragrance is created using Buly’s Eau Triple water-based perfume and features notes of cedar wood, verbena, pink berries, and vetiver. The scent is dark, warm, and comforting, evoking the imagery of the painting, incense burning, candlelight and spices. If you’re looking for a mature scent that’s incredible for a summers evening, then turn to the arts.

Available from Buly - €150

Skandinavisk Glamping Kit

If you’re off for a weekend getaway in the woods, or a music festival, there’s no excuse not to still smell amazing. Skandinavisk have put together a glamping kit, which includes hand cream, body wash and hand & body lotion. Skandinavisk have used their Skog scent, which is Swedish/Norwegian for Forest, think pine, fir cones and birch sap, forest fresh! Remember, it’s important to have fun, but it’s more important to smell great!

Available from Skandinavisk - £18

Ginori 1735 - Il Favorito Black Stone

If you’re going to look and smell good, naturally you’ll want your home to keep up. My home scent of choice this month is Il Favorito Black Stone, part of the LCDC collection. The jar is porcelain, looks and feels beautifully made, and very cool with the Light My Fire slogan. The scent is called Black Stone, with notes such as cinnamon, patchouli and amber, it’s rich and enveloping. Summer isn’t always about fresh and uplifting, the summer evenings lend themselves to warm and playful scents. Better yet, what a cool jar to keep your pens tidy once it’s burned.

Available from Liberty - £145

Revision Skincare - DEJ Face Cream

DEJ refers to the dermal-epidermal junction, but we all knew that right? This is an important area, the boundary between the epidermal and dermal layers. In short, we need to keep it healthy! DEJ contains the incredible retinol, which penetrates the epidermis and neutralises free radicals, boosting collagen and elastin production, your skin will look better than ever. If you’ve been using your same old products, getting the same old results, it’s time to get scientific!

Available from The Skin Experts - £152

Green People - Fresh Mint Toothpaste

Some products we use every day but give little thought to how it’s made or what it contains. Green People have created a toothpaste that’s certified organic, SLS free, cruelty free, vegan and kind to sensitive gums. It’s available in a range of flavours and options with or without fluoride. Fresh Mint is my personal pick, but I’d suggest checking out the Citrus & Aloe Vera! You’ve revamped the rest of your grooming routine, now it’s time for your toothpaste.

Available from Organic People - £6.75

Man In The Mirror Podcast

As a bonus recommendation, I wanted to throw in the fantastic Man In The Mirror podcast. Hosted by Haydn Williams, the award winning fragrance and grooming writer. Haydn welcomes guests to chat life, work, and grooming. I’m a huge advocate for men talking about grooming and self-care, I believe it’s important for personal wellbeing and mental health. Haydn is doing a wonderful job, so give him some support by having a listen.
