4 Key Trends for Spring/Summer 2014

Trends are always hard to get right and are very difficult to perfect in the ever changing world of men’s fashion, but this summer seems to have a really laid back feel about.

We believe that every man can pull off this season's key trends effortlessly. There are 4 main trends this season that have been seen across many runway shows and presentations.

Linen

Linen has always been a big hit in the summer seasons because of its breathability and ability to absorb perspiration. It’s come out in full force this year, from full linen suits to shorts and t-shirts.

It’s a key trend this season and can be styled with relative ease such as; a white linen T-shirt, Navy linen trousers and a pair of brown monkstrap shoes - sorted.

Floral Prints

From full-on-in-your-face suits to a simple hint of a floral pocket square, floral prints can be worn well in a million different combinations and no, it doesn’t make you any less of a man.

Wearing floral prints shows you have confidence in your appearance and one thing women really love is confidence.

White

The great thing about white being such a great trend for SS14 is the simplicity of it and the blank canvas impression it gives you, and (almost) everyone has something white in their wardrobe, whether it’s a shirt or jeans.

So chances are, you don’t need to spend a lot to keep up with this trend in the summer and you can easily incorporate other trends. Try a white linen shirt with some floral shorts and your hitting three trends in one outfit.

Tailored Joggers

Now, I know what the more sartorial of you will say about this but try and think about it as a step in the right direction (at least it’s not drop crotch and baggy anymore).

I'm not sure if I’d wear these out other than to pop to the shop to get a pint of milk or at the gym, this doesn’t mean you can’t wear them out like a pair of trousers.

Several designers have heavily featured them in their collections styled with garments from shirts to derby shoes.

The great thing with this season's main trends is that they seem to have a nod towards a more comfortable and casual approach to dressing, while they all can be incorporated easily and subtly with items you already own, so you don’t have to go out and purchase a whole new outfit.
