Reiss: Dressed to Kill

AW14 eveningwear at Reiss is all about razor-sharp sensibility. As 2015 fast approaches, its conclusion with it, comes all those social rites so synonymous with the year’s closing months.

Cue rapturous celebration and merriment unbridled. It is this spirit of elation – fused with serious sartorial clout – that their AW14 men’s eveningwear aspires to channel. The Reiss AW14 campaign ‘Dressed To Kill’ is an ode to the sheer joy of dressing for an event, and through it they share a new menswear mood which sets the sartorial agenda for the next year’s beginning.

Though the season’s events may be brimming with hi jinks, Reiss' favoured palette prizes restrained refinement giving bold colour the cold shoulder in favour of dimly-lit shades. Think deepest black, duskiest navy and hits of colour that although muted, are still fiercely intense.

Nowhere is this seen moreso than on their offering of velvet blazers which come in an array of rich colours that rival the sumptuousness of their fabric.

And what of tailoring’s form? Cut closely to the body, tuxedo jackets, tailored trousers and shirts all share a stark sharpness of silhouette. Similarities cease there. Fabrications span from rich wool to crisp cotton and from window pane checks to fine flecks. Thanks to an abundant offering of accessories, fine tuning your formalwear never felt so effortless.

AW14 marks Reiss menswear’s most comprehensive offering of finishing touches to date. For fans of tradition, shoes, bow-ties and ties observe both classic and directional design. Meanwhile cufflinks and tie pins are the easiest way to add a flash of sleek metallic style.
