The Do’s and Don’ts of Men's Eyebrow Grooming

Eyebrows are one of the first things we notice about a person, whether subconsciously or not, since they are a focal point on the face and ultimately shape our eyes - so there is nothing wrong with a little ‘manscaping’ on your eyebrows. It’s best to begin with a professional to get the shape and style you desire, then you can continue with this yourself at home to save the expense of regular visits to a groomer. A lot of men believe it is best to ask for a man’s opinion on the best place to go as opposed to asking a woman. This is because men fear being given perfectly shaped eybrows like what women desire for themselves.

Do’s and Don’ts

Don’t Wax, Do Tweeze. A big mistake and often something you can notice straight away is a quick and instant wax. Do you know how you can tell? The brow shape will be block-like and won’t have a soft finish around the edge - and they ultimately won’t look natural. So if you can, don’t just go for a brow wax to rid of the strays above and below the brow but also use tweezers nearer the brow to give the desired look you want. Just be careful not to overdo it!

You don’t need to remove all the hair from your unibrow to have good eyebrows. This is because an overly groomed eyebrow can look feminine. But with that in mind you should still tidy it up with some tweezers to get rid of the bigger and thicker hairs on your unibrow from time to time.

Our eyebrows shape our faces so it’s important when grooming to look at the overall picture of how they will look on your face. So by using a pencil held straight from the ball of your nose to the inner side of your eyebrow, see where the tip of the pencil aligns with your brows. This is as far in you can go when shaping them to keep the most natural shape as possible.

If you have good shape and your eyebrows aren’t particularly bushy or thick, then maybe you can just trim the hairs with small grooming scissors to make them neater. You can do this every few weeks for a groomed appearance without too much effort. Lastly, use an eyebrow brush or eyebrow gel daily to neaten them up.
