5 Fashionable Destinations to Visit this Summer

There are some cities around the globe which are considered fashionable and pretty exciting right now. And we are not talking about Paris or Milan (which, without a doubt are the two capitals of fashion after London), but we're focusing on five other destinations where you can embrace your inner fashionista even.  Our friends at Travel Ticker kindly shared with us their list of stylish places to visit this year.

Marrakech, Morocco

We just love Morocco - with its colours, heat and amazing people living there. But Marrakech, the capital city of this amazing African country, is the first city you should visit for sure. This city will amaze you with its enormous and ancient traditional market where you will be able to shop for the most colourful fabrics and spices that you won’t find anywhere else. But after mindless wanderings, definitely spend some time in Noyra’s, a boutique which was opened by model Poppy Delevigne, and shop for high-quality and beautiful kaftans which will be perfect souvenirs.

Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo is one of the most famous cities around the globe - and not only among fashionistas. Both modern and traditional Japanese architectures collide creating a very unique and intriguing spirit of the city. Apart from that, as we know it, Japan is a birthplace for many unique apparel styles e.g. the Harajuku, which has its own separate shopping district. So, be sure to spend some time here and admire the young Japanese style. Be sure to head to the Ginza district and shop for more conventional, but indeed fashionable clothing from world famous designers.

Havana, Cuba

There are many reasons why you should fly to Cuba this year. First of all, if you follow the recent news, you might have discovered that Cuba have decided to open their borders, and they even welcomed president Obama recently. This means warmer relationships between the USA and Cuba, and hence, a lot more tourists. But apart from this fact, Cuba is worth visiting because of locals’ unique sense of fashion. In particular, designer Stella McCartney has created an entire line based on the Cuban way of living, and we recently featured the 'Cuban collar' in our US trend report.

The Maldives

Despite the fact that the Maldives might not sound very fashionable – it is! Many fashion magazines just love this country for its outstanding beauty, and they host thousands of photoshoots there annually. So, you might end up meeting with some really famous models if you're lucky. On the other hand, don’t just spend your whole time hunting fashion industry people – with Maldives’ white sand beaches, turquoise water and all year long perfect weather, it would be a sin not to spend a few hours on a beach to get a perfect tan.

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

This incredible city is not only famous for its hot samba dancers, unique way of celebrating Mardi gras, but also because of its amazing surroundings and breathtakingly beautiful people. We are not over exaggerating this at all – many fashion agencies come to Brazil to hunt for new faces, and they often find a lot of beautiful people who instantly become a hit in the fashion world. Rio is also pretty famous among fashion photographers as well, so don’t be surprised to see a photoshoot of two. Don’t forget that this year the Olympic Games are going to be hosted in Rio as well.
