Discover June 2016’s Coolest Stuff

June, the month in which we love nothing more than to celebrate our Fathers - after-work drinks in the sunshine become an almost daily occurrence and our television screens become glued to the sports channel. We’re at the half way point of the year, but please, oh please, no one mention Christmas just yet. We’re still getting into the swing of summer here, making the most out of the early mornings, and longer evenings. Following on from our May round-up, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite products and releases for the month of June.

adidas NMD_R1 Sneaker

For June adidas slam us with another three colourways of their hugely popular MND_R1 Primeknit. Sticking to a more subtle palette than last season’s more vibrant predecessors, the latest drop of the Originals Boston Super-inspired silhouette comes in Vapour Grey, Solid Grey and Core Black. The MND merges two of the brand’s most advanced and exciting technologies; with a fully breathable Primeknit upper and the softer-than-clouds, but extremely supportive Boost sole. The NMD sell as out as fast as they’re released, so don’t sleep on these.

Margaret Howell x Anglepoise

Two British design houses have come together to create a limited edition release of Anglepoises’ iconic Type 75 Desk Lamp. Soon to be available in three pastel shades, chosen to sit well in both domestic and work interiors, this collaboration with Margaret Howell reinstalls the fashion brand’s longstanding relationship with the humble desk lamp – from memories of finishing school homework under the lamp, to starting her own personal collection in the 1960s. This limited release is currently available in Yellow Ochre, with both Saxon Blue and Seagrass soon to be added.

The Glenlivet Cipher

If you like your whisky to have a little extra mystery, and are not one to be swayed by other people’s suggestive “noses” then this month’s drop of curiosity by Glenlivet Cipher might be the one for you. Bottling just 1,200 of these masquerades, the single malt Cipher purposefully comes sans cask information or tasting notes, in order to test each customer’s sensory credentials. The slick black packaging also contributes to its perplexity – tactfully not giving any tell-tale signs away.

Shinola Canfield Chrono

Another new watch for another month, but not many can count themselves as handsome as the new Canfield Chrono by the peoples’ favourite, Shinola. The Canfield is Shinola’s first chronograph model that has been built using the top loaded case construction method. A technique which involves a laborious and skilled assembly, allowing for an ascetically pleasing open-dial face with diamond-cut hands. As with all Shinola watches, their signature coined edge detail and premium leather US-made straps can be found across this 5-piece collection.

S'well Wooden Bottle

When we’re not exploring ultra-niche whiskies you’ll be sure to find us keeping hydrated through the day with bucket-loads of water. Keeping on top of your daily water intake is a given if you’re training, attending fitness classes or just trying to keep your body feeling healthy. Leaders in eco-friendly drinks bottles, S’Well aimed to develop a drinking vessel that was not only a beautiful piece of design, but also to create a business model that gave back to beneficial charities. Their Teakwood collection, coming in seven colours and three sizes, is created using stainless steel, and is cleverly painted to imitate wood - with a percentage of sales going towards U.S Fund for UNICEF.

Universal Works x Satta

Ok, well that’s summer officially started then, as this partnership between Nottingham’s Universal Works and Bali-based Satta come together to create some perfect washed-out holiday gear. The brand’s on-going Love.Peace.Soul collection continuous for SS16, this time merging UW’s workwear and embroidery with Satta’s signature earth palette and skate roots. Easy to wear skate-inspired fits is what you’ll find – two tees, a twill baseball cap, pin badge and mid-weight overshirt.
