Discover the Ted Baker Garment Dyed Collection

Over on the Ted Baker website now, a playful illustration on the Garment Dyed collection. The demonstration will give you the broad strokes on the process, saving you hours of fruitlessly swotting away on the rudiments of dyeing garments.

"One of Ted’s more recent epiphanies came to him during a long, relaxing dip, when the idea of garment dyeing popped into his head. Selecting only his most laid-back styles, he bathed them in the richest colours. And once the suds had settled, they'd scrubbed up a treat. With just a little extra TLC, Ted’s garment dyed pieces had taken on striking tones, with a beautifully lived-in quality and a super-soft handle."

Testily, each garment is pre-stitched, then dyed. After a thorough wash, the aesthetic of the garment lends itself to the lived-in look. (If that's your thing). According to this stratagem, due to the nature of the wash, each item differs slightly in colour and shade, providing distinction and exclusivity. From their current online collection I'd like to highlight the following.

The Nepal Casual Cotton Blazer

With one eye on the winter horizon, casual layering with this NEPAL red cotton blazer will display your vivacious tendencies. Separating you away from the navy archaisms associated with blazers, introducing an agreeable, fluent and clear style. However, if navy archaisms are your flavour (they are mine) then it comes in charcoal and navy also.

SHRLAW Laundered cotton shirt

A relaxed alternative to a classic crisp shirt, SHRLAW has undergone a special dye process for an ultra-soft and laid-back finish. I may take mild umbrage to Ted calling this a timeless style, built to last etc. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking this is going to be hanging in your wardrobe for the next 50 years, fashion by its very definition is transient. It will however slip unobtrusively under a bridgecoat, or as highlighted above, a casual cotton blazer that will announce your arrival. Although I may renege on my initial recommendation of the red colourway unless you have a mania for similar tones.

LAUNDAA Slim fit cotton chinos

I'll be heavily vamoosing denim from my wardrobe this season, as my girlfriend reminds me every five minutes; "You're not 18 anymore." However a truism this maybe, I will still burp the alphabet and piss-chase cigarette butts down the urinal troth - these frivolities keep a man from wrinkles you know. I digress. These LAUNDAA chinos will complete the force majeure, the lived-in look with comfort and style from the Ted Baker Dyed Collection.
