A Look at the Hypebeast SS17 Collections

The beginning of March 2017 marked the release of most streetwear style brand collections for Spring/Summer 2017. We’re here to take a closer look at some of the nicer items that dropped or at least some that you may have missed and are definitely worth trying to get your hands on.

Noah NYC

We start off with Noah NYC. After leaving his post as Supreme’s creative director, Brendon Babenzien launched his own men’s streetwear brand Noah in 2015. Conceived as an ode to Babenzien’s upbringing as a New York City skater, along with his desire to start an environmentally sustainable and ethical business, the brand fuses streetwear aesthetics with classic menswear elements. I'm certain they will rise into a global super brand in 2017. We start off with the colours crew neck. A simple sweater with ribbed cuffs/hem and features an embroidered logo on the chest. A simple yet stylistic piece that compliments pretty much any outfit. Next a simple graphic tee. A beachfront print t-shirt that shows off your trendsetting style with a pop of colour. Double denim is clawing its way back into fashion slowly but surely, however please be sure to NOT wear the same colour on the top and bottom - Jeremy Clarkson has already killed that look. Check out this lightweight denim utility shirt from Japan. Featuring bellowed chest pocket with button flap, work buttons and scalloped hem.

Off White

Following up is Off White, a brand who had a killer collection drop recently. They are a fashion label that is rooted into contemporary culture. A company not scared of producing some crazy pieces and all products are produced on a season-to-season basis, making it rare you will see these items crop up again after production is stopped. Worn by the elite, if you have the money to spare, there are definitely a few items worth the tag. This red check classic shirt is quality assured and a spring/summer style wherever you go. Next up, the long sleeve logo graphic tee with black print on front hem, back and sleeves. Designed to fit slightly baggy, it’s a casual day piece or night out tee if teamed with the right trousers. These 5 pocket diag jeans are perfect for the summer season too. A main staple to Off White who offer a twist to the classic regular king jean.

Supreme

Moving onto the big boys next with Supreme. There was plenty of controversy surrounding the new SS17 drop as the lookbook didn’t build up the expectation normally instigated by their releases. People were quick to assume that it was the design of the products, which could be argued were questionable, but when has that ever deterred anyone? I mean look at the Supreme Brick for example. We start off with the bold yet beautiful tapered seam jacket. An individualistic item that I have to admit I am looking to purchase. The edgy design, when paired with a few darker items, will create a great look. Then we have the Sade graphic tee, which I think will be one of those pieces that are placed amongst the all-time great supreme pieces such as the Box Logos and North face collaborations. Finally, the money gun - I know it’s not fashion related but who doesn’t want a money gun made by Supreme? It’s a pointless item but it still managed to sell out instantly.
