Discover September 2017’s Coolest Stuff

Well, autumn certainly arrived with a bang. It’s suddenly cold, dark and rainy. For many, this season is one to look forward to. Escaping the heat and being able to layer clothing is a pleasant prospect. With this in mind we’ve picked out some great items this month such as technical menswear from Japan and minimalistic sneakers from Denmark. So, following on from our August round-up, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite products and releases for the month of September 2017.

BEOPLAY AW17 Collection

B&O PLAY presents the AW17 Collection. A limited-edition range of premium speakers, headphones and the latest wireless earphones inspired by the fashion and interior colour trends of the season. This season, B&O PLAY joins the voices that remind us that simplicity and serenity is timeless. The colour inspiration was found in that magical slice of time, where autumnal light drapes the Japanese landscapes in sophisticated and unexpected colour combinations. Hence the natural and expressive materials used in the collection such as leather and aluminium is softened by a palette of lilac, violet, cityscape grey (vapour) and deep brown (umber) to form a collection that slots into your AW17 wardrobe with ease.

Opening Ceremony has once again collaborated with Esprit, debuting a collection which draws from the counterculture mall brand’s fresh, subversive history. Inspired by funhouse prints and sherbert stripes from Esprit’s ‘80s and ‘90s heydey—with silhouettes that will look as modern in 20 years as they would have on a Memphis Milano sofa — the collection is an icon in the making. “Esprit and Opening Ceremony share an ethos, from our relationship with global youth culture to our insistence on diversity in fashion,” says Opening Ceremony co-founder Humberto Leon.

INSTRMNT K Series Launch

Introducing the Instrmnt K-Series: a trio of rubber-strapped, monochrome watches influenced by the science of colour theory and materiality. Instrmnt’s most contemporary design output yet, and first entirely vegan product range. The colour palette and naming structure of the K-Series range is inspired by the CMYK printing process, whereby a Key Plate provides detail and leaves only a simple impression at a dilution of black between 0% and 100%. The functionality and constraints of this technique provided a basis for designers Ross Baynam and Pete Sunderland, who wanted to focus on an industrial, calculated process to inform the first release of a greyscale collection.
