Introducing Guards London

There are plenty of brands out there that offer stylish outerwear for men, but it’s the refined detailing of Guards London’s coats that make this brand one to look out for in 2018. With just five styles to its name, they prioritises true quality over quantity, and it really does show.

Founded in London’s Spitalfields, Guards London place emphasis on classic tailoring with hand-picked materials that are cut to chest size. Championing water resistant fabrics and rubberised buttons, their coats are all about attention to detail. Each garment is also finished with a signature sword motif, subtly embroidered under the collar for a really refined and unique finish.

It’s this kind of craftsmanship that shows this is a brand that wants to celebrate its roots. But Guards London are still determined to remain innovative and current. The team are continuously developing and perfecting their processes so that when they put words like ‘timeless’ to their name, they really mean it. Each coat is manufactured in cutting edge factories that specialise in design-led products. So, you can imagine the great finish on these products – they’re faultless.

As a result of this kind of forward-thinking, Guards London’s signature coat, The City Rain Coat is as adaptable as they come. Its removable Gilet boasts Thinsulate™ technology - which works by retaining body heat and allowing moisture to escape simultaneously - making this a raincoat a staple for all seasons. Similarly, the quilt-lined Winter Rain Coat offers an extra layer of insulation while the Gilet means it’s still wearable in those transitional periods throughout the year. This raincoat’s camoflage detailing adds a stylish aesthetic that highlights the adaptability of the product itself.

It’s no surprise then that we’re beginning to see the likes of Made in Chelsea’s Hugo Taylor and Saracens rugby player, Nathan Earle sporting The City Raincoat in the past year or so. And with an impressively affordable price tag for such a quality product, we’re sure this is just the start of things to come for Guards London - watch this space. "2018 is all about expansion and offering customers unique quality product that stands out from the busy crowd. We’re going to launch a waterproof tailored mac with detachable hood in time for the April showers." - Simon Sowden, Owner & designer

Simon further explains how "In order to remain unique as a brand we’re going to be launching this in some very cool technical fabrics with our traditional camo trims; it’s going to be available in multiple colours, not just the traditional black and navy that people are used to seeing. We’re also launching a reversible rain coat in several colour options, I want to offer these in our staple colour options, including burgundy and green. Aside from launching new product we want to continue upgrading our infamous City Rain Coat by exploring higher quality and performance fabrics. Lastly, we want to continue to offer quality and affordable outerwear; the modern gentleman deserves top quality garments without paying silly prices."
