An Evening with The X-Class

Last night saw the launch of the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class: a pickup with a purpose. Held at Printworks in Canary Wharf, London, the X-Class brought down a who’s who of noted celebrities, influencers and personalities alike.

Mercedes-Benz don’t tend to do things by half-measure, so when it came to the launch of a brand new pickup truck, you knew it was going to be an unforgettable evening. The X-Class is uniquely versatile: it can be used as a rugged, all-terrain pickup but also as a vehicle for urban lifestyles and families. Tough and stylish, we can’t imagine it will be long before we see the X-Class on the London roads.

Following the launch of the X-Class class in Berlin and Paris, London was next up. We were invited to spend #60MinutesWithX, a one-of-a-kind experience in which we were graced by the presence of several unique X-Class pickups – one containing a DJ booth (and DJ, of course); another as an art piece emblazoned by a kaleidoscope of light; another as a photo-op bed; and naturally, one with a loading area chock-full of ice, assisting the bar.

Surrounded by selfie-taking influencers, celebrities and pickup aficionados, there was an air of excitement as we awaited the big reveal: which musician was going to perform an exclusive 60-minute set. The guests were ushered to another area adjacent to the main room and welcomed by the sounds of DJ Charlesy. A few of the X-Class pickups were there to join in on the fun, too. Drinks in-hand, the crowd was abuzz as none other than Mr. Tinie Tempah jumped on stage to perform a succession of hits – old and new.

As purveyors of style, the X-Class definitely has a lot of it. Whether we take it for trips around the city or journeys off-road, this pickup definitely has a little bit of everything, for everyone.
