4 STEPS FOR BUILDING A MAN CAVE IN YOUR ROOM
It's time to transform your dorm room into something extraordinary. Maybe you have a small area with no windows, or perhaps you don't want to hang out in the hallway all the time. Whatever the reason, if you are looking for an escape from reality, it is time to build a man cave in your room. Fortunately, there are a few simple steps that you can take to get started.
Purchase a Queen Mattress
First, you will have to find a way to keep the bed in your man cave clean. Fortunately, there is an easy fix that will leave everyone happy. Purchase a full-size mattress with two twin box springs. While most people use this for their kids' or guest room, it makes an excellent base for your man cave bed. You can quickly learn more about the queen mattress at https://www.citymattress.com/collections/queen-mattresses, where you will see great information. You will need to purchase a new bedding set, but that is easy to do. You can also take this time to get rid of the old comforter that has taken on many different looks over the years, and it might be time for an upgrade anyway.
Throw Down Some Carpet
The floor is just as important as the walls when it comes to transforming your dorm room into a man cave. Take down the industrial grey carpeting and replace it with some self-adhesive carpet tile. Place the carpet tiles in a checkerboard pattern to create an interlocking design. This will leave you with a floor that is easy to clean and looks like commercial-grade carpeting. If you want, you can place one or two of these tiles around your bed as well. This way, it is easy for guests to walk into your room at night while sleeping.
Cover the Walls
Take it down a notch by covering your walls with posters and signs. This is usually where most people go wrong when building their man cave in their room. They try to turn their dorm into a sports bar, but that takes away your man cave's soul. You want to create a sense of privacy and comfort that will keep you coming back for more.
Spruce Up the Bathroom
Last but not least, it is time to spruce up your bathroom. Many students try adding an air hockey table or mini-fridge here. These are good ideas, but you do not want your man cave bedroom to be a complete pit. Instead, try adding a shelf for your grooming and hygiene products. This will make it easy to get ready in the morning and let you keep all of your favourite shampoos and soaps close to hand.
Your man cave is your sanctuary, but it does not have to lose money. Create a space that is still fun but easy to clean. Add some carpet tiles and a self-adhesive tile flooring option. Cover the walls with posters and signs or get them painted to match your bedroom. Finally, add a shelf in your bathroom for all of your favourite grooming products. If you follow these simple steps, you will have a place to escape from reality in no time.
