Introducing Proverb Skincare For Men

A man’s grooming kit should be a state of constant flux. Evolving like the very skin he lives in, constantly striving for peak perfection. At MenswearStyle we're constantly on the lookout for new and innovative skincare brands that work in simpatico with healthy lifestyles, that comes from an eco-friendly core and is designed to inspire men to feel better about their skin, body and mindset through being lifefuelled. Introducing Proverb, a new skincare range for men whose founders hail from the elite worlds of professional rugby, rowing, and skincare; who live and breathe the philosophy, you ‘get out what you put in.’

Proverb takes the understanding and efficacy of elite sports nutrition and applies it to your skin. They have managed to galvanise clean, active, natural and organic ingredients such as proteins, anti-oxidants and enzymes, formulated for lab proven results; making Proverb the first male skincare brand to be awarded EWG (Environmental Working Group) certification.

“When I started out in women’s skincare over 10 years ago it was always a source of amusement amongst my professional sports peers and those that knew me. Since then I have had a vision to make it ‘OK’ for men to care about their skin and how they look and feel. The goal is for Proverb to become the most trusted and desirable ‘clean’ male skincare brand that takes a truly integrated approach to healthy skin, body and mindset driven by my desire to see things differently” - Luke Sherriff, former Pro athlete & Co-Founder.

Products from the range include everything a man needs in his grooming kit survival guide. Cleanse & Shave Nutrient Mud, Hydration Pro Moisturiser, Oil Balance Pro Moisturiser, Skin Definition Facial Scrub, Skin Resistance Training Supplements and a Strengthening Skin Serum. What I love most about this brand is how accessible it is for the man on the move. All the products are available in volumes of 100ml or under which makes it a blessing for anyone travelling internationally and wants to maintain a consistently good grooming regime, without the need or rigmarole of checking in luggage. The name is also a welcome relief from its more derivative contemporaries who seem to cling onto voguish laddish idioms that they believe resembles modern masculinity - MAN MOIST, BRUT FACE, GRILL CLEAN - need I go on.

The packaging is inoffensive, borderline nondescript. But it's main USP is that it's not only a product backed by science, but it's been championed and conceived by athletes. People such as Brand Ambassador, Thom Evans, who leads the brand's launch campaign. A model and ex rugby pro, Thom trains hard, loves sport, eats clean and is passionate and excited about life – he is the epitome of lifefuelled.
