British Brand AnZ Debuts Ethnically Made Sweatshirts

Iconic British brand AnZ known for their bold, knitted cardigans that have been worn by the great and the good have expanded their offering with a series of sweatshirts and T-shirts. The collection comprises of two styles of sweatshirts in multiple colourways and a very on trend white on white T-shirt with placket placement embroidery.

Designer Ainy Naim, started AnZ following years of consulting for major international brands, along with working as a creative director and stylist for globally recognised music artists. Naim established AnZ with a unique design perspective for a global audience. The brand reinvestigated heritage knitwear, which the designer fused with a love of the emerging hip-hop scene of the 1980s. Alongside this, the brand has an informed approach to luxury, looking to create garments with purpose and the ability to be part of a new narrative and stories. Creative Director, Ainy, is inspired by sportswear trends, multi-cultural society and the world around her, which plays an integral role in the ANZ DNA.

ANZ is designed in North London and produced in the UK through cooperation with family run factories. ANZ proudly creates small runs of individual garments, keeping product highly desirable and collectable. Naim says of the latest additions to the brand, that; “It was a natural progression for us. The knitwear has been so popular, we will always have an emphasis on this within AnZ, but we wanted to explore other apparel. I have a million ideas in my head at any given time and have always loved iconography and slogans”, and that “A lot of my designs are inspired from journeys and conversations. There is so much going on in the world and I wanted to explore my own personal identity, with conscious slogans”.

The brand has created an 'Ethnically Made' slogan hoodie sweater in soft to touch cotton with applique font on the front and care label on the sleeve, available in bright yellow, orange and black along with two style of flag inspired hoodies, featuring three hoods, kangaroo pockets, signature print cording and the AnZ logo and 'product of an immigrant' embroidered in glow in the dark thread on the chest. The brand’s first T-shirt is a white on white affair with the aforementioned logo/slogan that glows in the dark.

Naim says; "We are an inclusive brand and love seeing our designs worn on the streets, there is nothing more exciting than seeing someone on the tube in something that you have created” with the price point of the latest drops being reflective of this, with an entry level of £30.00 for the T-shirt. ANZ clothing is stocked in leading boutiques and retailers globally and has received an international fanbase including VIPs and media.
