5 Beach-Holiday Destinations to Party Hard in 2020

2020 might have only just begun, but committed clubbers are already thinking ahead to where they want to spend their days and nights in the sun – and there are plenty of options to choose from. Here's a quick list of a few we've shortlisted:

1. Ibiza

A global institution, Ibiza clubbing holidays have long been popular with hedonists from around the globe. The reason? Top beach restaurants in Ibiza with a perfect combination of world-famous clubs to enjoy at night and numerous relaxed beaches to recover on the following day. Parties start in May and carry on through to October, with plenty of festivals to attend. July and August are the busiest months, with Creamfields and Ibiza Meltdown both taking place, but these are just the tip of the iceberg. Daily boat parties are on offer and Defected Ibiza kicks things off with a bang in May.

2. Croatia

Croatia is carving itself a future as a clubber’s paradise with a twist. Here, you’ll find beautiful old buildings transformed into party zones when the sun sets, with cave clubs and fortress dance spots to experience. You can also opt for a chilled night in a cliff bar – just remember that your vibe attracts your tribe, so you’ll always be in good company. Plan your visit to coincide with one of the many festivals scheduled for 2020 and you could see DJs such as David Guetta, Goldie, Swedish House Mafia and Armand van Helden. Ultra Europe and Defected Croatia are also too good to miss.

3. Malta

Malta is turning up the heat and not just in terms of sunny days as you lounge on the beach. With plenty of festivals lined up for 2020, including Annie Mac’s Lost & Found and Summer Daze, there’s plenty of clubbing heavy-hitters to choose from. A destination hotspot with as many cultural sites and beaches to enjoy as all-out dance parties, Malta has been working hard to offer something for everybody. An added bonus is the small size of the island, meaning that you can flit from one club to the next easily and quickly, if you hear that things are getting lit elsewhere.

4. Mexico

To experience the best of Mexican nightlife, head to Cancun, Tulum or Playa Del Carmen, where the parties rarely stop and the sun keeps on shining. Festivals to look out for include Summer Fest in Cancun, as well as ZoukMX in Playa Del Carmen, but the fun carries on all year round. With Cancun being the wild child of the Mexican resorts, Playa Del Carmen has more of a relaxed feel, but is still ideal for letting loose until dawn. Tulum gets even more chilled, with plenty of vegan restaurants and yoga retreats that contrast perfectly with all the full-moon parties and contemporary clubs.

5. Miami

Celebrating its 35th year in 2020, the Miami Winter Music Conference is a festival not to be missed by hardcore party fanatics, but if you can’t make it in March, there are plenty of other world-class clubs to keep you entertained during a holiday. Renowned for having the best nightlife scene in Florida, Miami caters to all musical tastes and has a talent for opening incredible nightclubs. Score is one of the best, but for a calmer evening or two, Midtown is the place to be, with live music and laid-back beer gardens everywhere.
