SEVENFRIDAY Launches Virtual Music Festival

Following on from a year where live events have ground to a halt due to the pandemic, the live music landscape is having to undergo some drastic changes. What we will be seeing now is the evolution of the industry where hands have been literally forced to take to the digital world and to wider networks, to see ‘businesses’ survive. The harsh reality is that live ‘in person’ events will not be happening within the foreseeable future and this has given birth to new and exciting platforms where the ‘party’ experience can be created online, to a potential audience of millions and all in the comfort of our own homes. Cue SEVENFRIDAY.

The lifestyle brand from Zurich, will be launching the first of many groundbreaking worldwide virtual festivals in December called YFPF (Your Favourite Pyjama Festival). A three-hour global hacienda of people coming together to celebrate life through music, to support new and emerging artists, and all in partnership with host and US music mogul Shawn Stockman (BoyzIIMen). The festival will showcase music genres from hip hop and R n’ B to rock and soul, from Berlin across to Mumbai.

What can be described as transcending the physical space, those tuning in can ready themselves for a journey into a jam-packed schedule of live performances, talks with artists, dance-offs and much, much more. Everyone is encouraged to dress up and stock up for their own dance floor experience and to explore the unique Zoom rooms full of DJs, dancing, interactive performances and that ‘fly on the wall' feel. SEVENFRIDAY Founder Dan Nierderer says, “The festival is an idea, first and foremost to connect cultures and individuals. We want to unify a global community, one without boundaries, where free and open-minded people can come together. This is all starts on December 11/12th 2020.”

The first edition of YFPF is a fully virtual festival using a webpage and video conferencing software Zoom. It works without installation on most computers, tablets and smartphones. The artists taking part in their inaugural event includes Stockman, who invites festival goers into his LA home for unmissable private music performances with special guests. House specialists MAT.JOE live from Berlin and Asian house music frontrunner Madoc live from Mumbai, plus much more. "Together with Shawn Stockman, we aim to create positive, lasting memories, while supporting a good cause in the music industry. Part of the money raised will be donated to the participating artists,” adds Nierderer. For more details and timings of the festival please visit: sevenfriday.com
