5 Tips for Stimulating Hair Growth

Whether you're a guy looking to get Rapunzel-like locks or looking to transform your thinning hair, there are a number of things you can do to stipulate hair growth and get the fuller head of hair you really want. Below are some of the most effective solutions you may want to try sooner rather than later.

1. Get a scalp massage

Scalp massages are not only very relaxing, but they can help to stimulate hair growth too. It works by increasing the blood flow to your scalp where it can do the most good and give your follicles a nutritional boost. Ideally, you should massage your scalp every night, but you may also want to book a professional massage once in a while too.

2. Put an egg on it

Yes, really. It might sound strange, but egg yolk hair masks really can help to stimulate hair growth. They work by strengthening the strands of your hair so that they grow thicker and are less prone to breakage. This is important because there are only so many follicles your head can support, so if you can hold onto existing strands for longer, when new ones grow your hair will be thicker.

3. Eat more omega-3s

Common wisdom used to be that dietary fat was bad for you. Now we know that not only is that not true, but also that dietary fat does us a lot of good in terms of brain health, weight loss, and hair growth! So, if you want your hair to grow thick and fast, it is a really good idea to start adding more omega-3s into your diet. You can do this by supplementing your existing diet or by eating more oily fish, avocados and nuts.

4. Stop styling

Okay, so you probably aren’t going to want to stop styling your hair completely but the less time you spend doing so will really help you to grow more hair. Heat styling, in particular, is really bad for hair health, and the more you do it, the less healthy, strong and abundant your hair will be. If you do need to apply heat, ensure that you coat your hair with a heat protectant spray or serum first.

5. Hair transplants

Of course, if nothing you do helps you to ultimately have more hair, there are always hair transplants to consider. Many people are wary of them because they have heard horror stories about them being very painful or failing to have the desired effect. These days, hair transplants are very safe and not as painful as you might imagine, and in answer to the question “Can you get a hair transplant repair?”, yes you can. So there’s no need to worry about that either. It’s not for everyone but it's worth considering if you're really struggling with the state of your hair.

As you can see, there are lots of things you can do to stimulate hair growth and hopefully encourage it to grow thicker and fuller, so what are you waiting for?
