Discover Hidden Depths with Boss Bottled Intense

This year Boss Bottled, an iconic fragrance has introduced Boss Bottled Intense to the portfolio of fragrances, embodying an intriguing blend of characteristics that reflect the complexity of today’s modern man. New Boss Bottled Intense, the first eau de parfum from the fragrance house, retains all the timeless qualities of the original scent, intensified by woody base notes and orange blossom. The enriched variant reveals new facets of the #manoftoday, embodying his strength of character, fierce passion and unwavering determination.

Lewis Peacock, of the P&G Fragrance Design Team, gave me a much needed idiots guide into the art of perfumery and how Boss Bottled is composed. Perfume has layers, (or notes) like that of an orchestra. Notes are separated into three classes; top/head notes, middle/heart notes, and base/belly notes; which denote groups of scents which can be sensed with respect to the time after the application of a perfume (Although an orchestra or an anatomical facsimile might be the best analogy, visually I think we'd all be better off imagining Michael Barrymore say "Top, Middle or Bottom which way are you going to go?").

These notes are created carefully with knowledge of the evaporation process and intended use of the perfume. The presence of one note may alter the perception of another - for instance, the presence of certain base or heart notes will alter the scent perceived when the top notes are strongest, and likewise the scent of base notes in the dry-down will often be altered depending on the smells of the heart notes.

Boss Bottled Intense is a blend of spirited green orange blossom laced with crisp apple in the top notes, mixed with a sumptuously spiced storm of geranium, cinnamon and clove at its heart. Precious base notes of sandalwood, vetiver and cedar wood wrapped in smooth vanilla, lend an air of absolute refinement.
