Introducing Orlebar Brown SS19 Collection

The weather may have finally made its transition into the typical British winter, but in the world of fashion we are already thinking about the Spring/Summer 2019 collections hitting the stores soon. Whilst we are wrapping up in our wooly hats and scarves, Orlebar Brown are already teasing us with the thought of what that warm sunshine feels like, with their SS19 campaign. Adopting a ‘Feel Summer’ mantra for next season, these are all pieces you guys will instantly feel happy to wear whilst strolling around on white sandy beaches or sat by a glistening swimming pool.

We might all be dreaming about it right now but hopefully in a few months’ time it will all become a reality! For those without patience, you could actually wear a few of these threads sooner rather than later; there’s sweaters, hoodies and merino wool knitwear along with tracksuits to name a few. These will all transition from winter into spring quite nicely.

This British brand have been making their swim shorts for over 10 years now. They started out with just a handful of styles but their designs have expanded into everyday pieces, sportswear and accessories. They are probably most well known for their tailored fit swim shorts with photographic and iconic artwork prints, but this season sees more geometric prints with a maritime colour scheme, inspired by the depths of the ocean. The vibrant colours of tropical marine life are mirrored in the bright colour palette with an added nod to the rippling turquoise waters. This is transferred into the more sporty and casual pieces as well.

This collection completely encapsulates the joy of summer with the cheery tones of blazing yellow, spring green, hot coral and bahama blue, all set against more neutral backgrounds of navy, white and pewter. Colours will be popping with a unique collaboration with London-based studio Good Wives & Warriors, as illustrators Becky Bolton and Louise Chappell have created two intricate exotic prints that explore the scenes of the coral reefs. The new colours in this collection will fit perfectly into any tropical scene as some photographics will focus on the idyllic palm tree, which will feature on the new Slim Aarons exclusive and an infrared Hawaiian beach scene.

To wear over the top of your swim shorts, or just with a pair casual summer shorts, Orlebar Brown have expanded their Summer Sport collection using Coolmax All Season technology with their bestselling OB-T (Orlebar Brown t-shirt) and Sebastian polo shirts. These are perfect for sunny destinations with humid climates as the fabric keeps you cool and dry by carrying moisture away from the body. On cloudier days when it’s not quite as hot, the fiber structure enables the body to keep warm. They are ideal for any outdoor sports but also for hitting the gym whilst staying at a hotel or resort.

You might be familiar with their classic, tailored-fit, Morton linen shirt, but for SS19 they have simplified their luxury button-through shirts with a more relaxed fit in the Ridley. If you prefer a tighter fit, there is still a tailored style with the Giles and both styles are available in cotton, linen, seersucker and denim. These are the type of shirts that will become staple pieces for any summer getaway. You can pack a couple in your suitcase and wear them smart or casual, with a pair of their longer style shorts, linen or chino trousers.

We all know it can get slightly cool in the evenings on some holidays, so Orlebar Brown’s sweatshirt pieces will be great for covering up. They come as a classic hoodie, zip-up jacket or long-sleeved crewneck sweater, featuring a kangaroo pocket. As well as these, there is a buttonless polo, the Horton, which is a standout piece in the collection and will be available in two colourways; intarsia stripes (blue and white) and a contrast panel. This almost vintage and retro look, which has a modern twist, is apparent throughout all of the brand's collections and they have continued this for SS19.
