Best Men’s Fragrances for Autumn 2020

It’s always sad to say goodbye to the summer months, however, Autumn has its own charm and beauty. It rains yes, often windy too, but it gives us the chance to layer up, bunker down and enjoy the changing colours around us. Autumn fragrances compliment the changing scenery and wear particularly well with layered clothing. Here are my picks of the best men’s fragrances for Autumn 2020.

Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme

Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme is a Chypre fragrance that features notes of tobacco, cypress and violet. With such a handsome bottle design and an enveloping scent that wears perfectly under Autumn layers, Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme is a great place to start your fragrance lineup for the upcoming months.

Yves Saint Laurent - La Nuit de L’Homme

If your fragrance collection doesn’t include La Nuit de L’Homme, it should. Whilst it’s now 11 years old, it still feels contemporary and relevant as ever. It features a beautiful sweet-spicy combination of cardamom and lavender, based with vetiver and cedar. A perfect choice for Autumn, and through the cooler days ahead.

Versace - Dylan Blue

Versace Dylan Blue is an aromatic scent that will cut through an Autumn morning with crisp notes of grapefruit and bergamot, patchouli and black pepper cutting through in the mid notes, then a rich base including incense, tonka bean and musk. Dylan Blue works well in the Autumn but is versatile enough to wear year-round.

Hugo Boss - Boss Bottled

Originally released in 1998, Boss Bottled is a fragrance I’ve owned many times, and still remains in place in my collection. Boss Bottled is warm and comforting. A great daily wear choice this Autumn. The stars of the show are vanilla, apple, cinnamon and sandalwood, notes that smell good enough to eat.

Dolce & Gabbana - The One

Every scent has a perfect occasion, and for me, The One is the perfect evening in scent. Amber and tobacco give a warm and cosy vibe, whilst the ginger and cardamom inject sweet spice and intrigue. So settle in for a movie night smelling fantastic, whilst the autumnal weather blows by.

Hermes - Terre d’Hermes

When I think of autumn, I think of leaves on the ground, and wet earth. Terre d’Hermes celebrates these qualities, blending citrus notes of orange and grapefruit with an earthy combination of vetiver, pepper and cedar. It works well as a year-round daily wear, but it shines in the Autumn season.

Cartier - Declaration

Declaration takes me on another trip down memory lane, and is a fragrance that's definitely worthy of revisiting. Cardamom, bitter orange and caraway are the dominant notes in this spicy and woody scent, an elegant scent that can divide opinion, but reigns supreme as an Autumn option.

John Varvatos - Vintage

I’ve treasured my bottle of Vintage as somewhat of an unknown gem. A wonderful combination of tobacco, suede, balsam fir and tonka bean. Oh, and I cant forget the addition of rhubarb. Vintage is slipping into a warm leather jacket on a blustery Autumn day. It’s smooth, sophisticated and comforting.
