February 2023’s Best Men’s Grooming Drops

February is always a fun month for me, as we get the first glimmers of the warm weather to come. Not to mention Valentine's Day, and the month ends with everyone's favourite day, my birthday (I presume my cards are in the post from you all). I say it every month, but it's a great time to think about upgrading your wardrobe and revamping your grooming regime. With that said, here are my pics of the best in grooming for February 2023.

Sam McKnight Perfect Mess

I don't often feature brands so close together, however after loving Self Control Gel, I then got the opportunity to test the latest in the range from Sam Mcknight, Perfect Mess. Perfect Mess is a matt sculpting clay that's lightweight and leaves and natural matt finish. Just as I mentioned previously, the presentation is once again on point, with the sharp gold on green design. Perfect Mess contains Beeswax, Kaolin Clay and Castor Seed Oil. Whatever your style, you’ll love how reworkable your very own Perfect Mess will be.

Hibernicis

Hibernicis are a bath and body care brand that are inspired by nature to replenish the body and minds of their customers. I had the chance to test several products from the range, but my favourites were the Bath + Shower Gel and Exfoliating Gel. Bath + Shower Gel gently cleanses skin, with a soothing scent of mandarin, geranium and sandalwood. Exfoliating Gel is truly invigorating, a combination of spearmint and peppermint will get your skin tingling, be careful where you exfoliate gents!

Chanel Allure Homme Sport All Over Spray

Not all fragrances stand the test of time, they often come and go like the seasons. Chanel Allure Homme Sport was once a rockstar, however it’s not taken centre stage for some time now. Allure Homme Sport is once again ready for the limelight, with the release of this wonderful scent in all over body spray format. It makes for a light and airy way of enjoying the combination of mandarin, cedar and tonka, that will take you back to 2004 when it was originally released. New is good, but sometimes going back to the classics is great.

Parfums de Marly Greenley

The world of niche fragrances is often an adventurous journey into the meeting of art and chemistry. The result is fragrances that can be challenging to wear, or at times, for those around you. However Greenley is far from challenging, a fresh and effervescent combination of apple, bergamot and oakmoss that is effortlessly wearable. Greenley is incredibly versatile, working in most situations and pretty much all year round. If you're looking for your new signature scent, then may I suggest you start right here.

Sentier Fragrance

Sentier Fragrance are new brand that are yet to launch, however I have had the opportunity to sample the full range and I am very impressed. The line consists of 10 fragrances, each presented beautifully in the sample set. My favourite from the line is Ran, a scent that shares its name with the Norse goddess of the sea. With notes of bergamot, tonka bean and cedar, there's depth to this oceanic adventure in a bottle. I look forward to the full launch of the range, make sure you get your nose on them once they’re available!

Givenchy Gentleman Society

Society is the latest addition to the ever popular givenchy gentleman range. The 4G monogram takes centre stage on the all black bottle, an elegant presentation, as we’ve come to expect from Givenchy. The scent opens with sage and cardamom, moving into a heart of four vetivers and narcissus, finally moving into a base of cedarwood, sandalwood and vanilla. Gentleman Society could be worn daily, however to my nose would shine as your new evening fragrance. Could this be your new go to for 2023?

Salt Grooming

Salt Grooming are a luxury UK brand offering hair care and styling products. I've had the opportunity to try their shampoo, conditioner and hybrid hair clay wax products. Salt products are certified organic, sustainably sourced and paraben-free. My pick is Thickening Shampoo, which contains organic actives, peptides and amino which thicken and strengthen hair, as well as ingredients to aid in preventing male pattern hair loss. Not to forget the refreshing wild mint scent, that really does kick start the day.

Miller Harris La Fumée Alexandrie

La Fumée Alexandrie is a hymn of rose and oud. Ancient rituals of scenting through the smoke are conjured as Rose, Oud and Incense converge to create a bewitching smoky rose scent. The fragrance conjures up visions of majestic ancient Egypt for whom scent was both sacred and seductive, best used to great effect by the legendary Cleopatra whose sandalwood ship was said to have silken sails drenched in precious rose oil. Perfumer Mathieu Nardin was commissioned to create his own story in the La Fumée world, originally conceived by Lyn Harris in 2010. Since launching, Alexandrie has become iconic and now gets its rightful place in the Private Collection. A blend of Rose Damascene absolute from Turkey is the perfumer's note, wrapped in papyrus, incense and oud to create a bewitching smoky rose.
