London Designer Outlet Shopping Guide

Fed up of the trials of online shopping, but still looking to find a bargain? MenswearStyle have found the perfect place for some retail therapy at Wembley’s London Designer Outlet. Located just 12 minutes from the city centre, London Designer Outlet has a great selection of stores as well as plenty of eating destinations. Everything you need is conveniently all in one space, including a nine-screen cinema. Over lockdown we’ve all been spending a lot more time doing our shopping online, however there’s no denying the advantages of actually physically visiting a store. Not only does it help bring financial support back onto the high street (which is needed now more than ever), but it also reduces the stress of having to send ill-fitting items back, with an inconvenient trip to the post-office. With restrictions lifting, now is the opportunity to get back out there (safely) and visit some of your favourite brands.

London Designer Outlet is just a short walk up from Wembley Park tube station (on the Jubilee and Metropolitan line) and right next to Wembley Stadium in the Wembley Park creative neighbourhood. The whole area has been massively developed over the last few years and the London Designer Outlet in particular has been beautifully designed with an impressive variety of high street brands; from sportswear and homeware to tech and grooming. And there are currently around 30 menswear brands on offer. As soon as we arrived, it immediately felt great to be back out socialising amongst fellow shoppers, as well as the store assistants. Speaking with the assistants is definitely one of the pros of being back in stores as they can help you with the styling of items and point out some fantastic offers - talking to an automated robot at the bottom of your computer screen just isn’t the same. Did we mention the discounts? With between 30-70% off in each store, it’s the perfect opportunity to save yourself a bit of cash and to treat yourself, or a friend. Plus, if you’re lucky, some stores are offering further reductions off selected items. Check out the list below of some of the stores that MenswearStyle visited, and some key items we think are definitely worth the trip.

Nike - Downshifter 9 (RRP £54.95 Outlet Price £44.95 with an extra 50% off)

The queue lining up outside the Nike store at London Designer Outlet proved just how good the deals are inside. And trust us, it’s worth the wait. There is an amazing selection of footwear; including football trainers and more leisure styles, as well as some of their classic men’s running shoes. It can be a bit overwhelming with the selection, but keep an eye out for the red labels as this normally signals an extra discount. MenswearStyle picked out the Downshifter 9 in Particle Grey (an absolute steal at just over £22!). This style is extremely lightweight and with the mesh upper, your feet will stay dry and fresh out on your runs. The cushioned sole provides plenty of comfort too.

The North Face - Base Camp Duffel (RRP £110.00 Outlet Price £77.00)

If you’re a regular traveller/adventurer, you can’t go wrong with the Base Camp Duffel: it is the ideal travel bag, which could also be used as a sports bag. The North Face at London Designer Outlet has a range of sizes and colours available. These bags are a best-seller for the brand, and the Duffel bag’s iconic status is understandable due to its durability and practicality. The Base Camp Duffel is currently made out of recycled materials and is water-resistant. Stuff it full with all your favourite outfits, sling it on your back, and you're ready for a fun weekend away.

Levi’s - Original 501 Jeans (RRP £80.00 Outlet Price £56.00)

These straight leg jeans are a cultural icon for a reason. Invented in 1873, they are still just as popular now as they were back when they were worn for mining. The Original 501s are your everyday denim jeans that can be worn with pretty much everything else in your wardrobe. And if you want to try a different colour or cut, just speak to one of the Levi's assistants. There are so many denim options and it’s the ideal place to discover your preferred style.

Superdry - Classic Pique Polo Shirt (RRP £34.99 Outlet Price £24.99)

If Superdry works for the likes of David Beckham and Idris Elba, then their clothing can fit into any stylish man’s wardrobe. There is a great selection of menswear in the Superdry outlet, including the Classic Pique Polo Shirt. This is a slim fitting shirt made from organic cotton, with a button collar and the recognisable Superdry logo. It’s such an easy and relaxed piece that can be worn with denim trousers or shorts. It comes in a variety of colours, so if this style is right up your street, why not grab a couple while you’re there.

Calvin Klein - Medium Drawstring Swim Shorts (RRP £55.00 Outlet Price £27.00)

If you’re lucky enough to grab yourself a holiday this year, you’re going to need a decent pair of swim shorts. Aside from their classic cotton t-shirts and boxer shorts, Calvin Klein currently has a great selection of men’s swimwear on offer. Their Medium Drawstring Swim Shorts are the perfect length and the elasticated waist will allow a little extra room for some summer vacation indulgence. Wear these whilst relaxing by the pool or with a t-shirt and flip flops to explore a seaside town. At this price, bag yourself two pairs and you’re all set!

The Fragrance Shop - Hugo Boss Boss Bottled

Every man’s ‘wardrobe’ isn’t complete without a decent everyday fragrance. And Hugo Boss Boss Bottled can be worn from day to night, all year round. Hugo Boss’s men’s fragrance launched back in 1998, but it’s just as relevant now as it was during its first release. We would highly recommend this infallible fragrance, but if you’re looking for something more specific, The Fragrance Shop offers a whole host of other brands. Plus, with the discounted prices, it’s a great place to stop and pick out a fragrance for a loved one.

Beauty Outlet - ClarinsMen Skincare (Over 50% off)

The Beauty Outlet might appear to be more directed towards the female audience, but don’t be put off as there are some great grooming brands in there and we picked up some surprisingly discounted ClarinsMen skincare products. We picked up the After Shave Soother, which is ideal for anyone who struggles with sensitive skin, and the long-lasting Antiperspirant Deo Roll-On. The discounts in the Beauty Outlet were so good, we couldn’t help but pick up a few bits and pieces for friends and family.

Moss Bros - 1851 Tailored Fit White Oxford Shirt (3 for £75.00)

If you’re heading back into the office after a long time being at home, you might want to think about refreshing your work wardrobe. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of putting on a crisp white shirt to start your working week, and the Moss Bros 1851 Tailored Fit White Oxford Shirt is completely fail-safe. Not only is this the ideal shirt for work, but if you have any weddings coming up, this will be great with any suit. These staple Oxford shirts will take you through the seasons; day to night, smart to casual. The slightly tailored fit gives it a modern and sophisticated finish, making it a staple in any man’s wardrobe.

Soletrader - White Lacoste Lerond Plus Trainers (RRP £74.99 Outlet Price £52.49)

Soletrader doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the range of men’s footwear brands. On the day, we were looking for a classic pair of white trainers. These crisp white Lacoste sneakers may be simple in style, but worn with a pair of printed shorts or dark denim jeans, they can still make a statement. The leather upper is soft but will keep in shape after numerous wears, and there is no doubt about it, it will be hard to keep these off your feet - especially at this price!
