Captivating Creations: The Mancheront Pacer

Meet the Mancheront Pacer, an elegant timepiece from an Australian microbrand. A robust and elegant tool watch designed for everyday wear. Founded by Dilon Wong, an accomplished architect with a deep passion for watches and design. Mancheront is based in Sydney and its brand name is a portmanteau of the French words 'manche' and 'forgeron', meaning 'sleeve' and 'blacksmith'. This unique name adds a distinctive touch to this new player in the watch industry. The dial of the Pacer is very clean yet informative. The first feature that stands out at its dial is the power reserve indicator positioned at 12H, an uncommon feature that is very useful for those with multiple watches. The hour markers are treated with blue C3 Super-LumiNova photoluminescent material that shines a blue light in the dark.

There is a date window is at 3H, and a 24-hour sub-dial is at 6H, making it easy to distinguish between AM and PM while adjusting the time, avoiding turning to the next day unnecessarily. All these functions are strategically placed for a seamless user experience, providing the wearer with all the information in one glance.

The Mancheront Pacer’s case is an evergreen 41mm diameter and is made from 316L stainless steel. Housed within is the ever so reliable Citizen Miyota 9132 movement with a 40 hours power reserve and a frequency of 28,000 beats per hour. The watch has a flat sapphire crystal with underside anti-reflective coating and is also water-resistant up to 100 meters, this means vigorous activities and water sports will be a walk in the park. All that while being assembled in Switzerland is a great value. Other notable features include its unique Wreath bezel and a beautifully contoured Petals case back for a comfortable daily wear. Mancheront also takes a different approach to the traditional diver bezel as a daily watch but instead introduces a pulsometer bezel. This caters to the growing interest in health and fitness. The Pacer allows users to measure their heart rate using the second hand as a stopwatch, eliminating the need for a separate stopwatch function within the movement. This innovative approach simplifies tracking both heart rate and seconds.

Initially released in black, as Black dial and black bezel, Mancheront has recently introduced two additional color variations – White dial steel bezel and Black dial steel bezel. All three models are now available for purchase on the Mancheront website. First-time buyers can enjoy a 10% discount with a promo code upon subscribing to Mancheront's newsletter. Terms and conditions apply.
