In Conversation with Junaid Ansari of Burrows & Hare

Burrows & Hare offer men's lifestyle and grooming for a new generation of discerning gentleman. Their vision for every item is that it be beautifully crafted, built to last and live organically with those who wear it and within its environment. The brand believes in opting for a higher quality of product, made by skilled and talented people. Through classic styling, quality materials and meticulous finishing, each product becomes timeless, making it a modern classic. Overall, they align their lifestyle philosophy with "buy less but buy better quality goods" which strives towards reducing waste, pollution and misconduct against labour force. Be it in a small way, it honours the craft and product itself.

In a recent episode of the MenswearStyle Podcast we interviewed Junaid Ansari, Co-Founder of Burrows & Hare about the focus of the family multi-brand business and the founding story which began with brick and motar in Oxford in 2015. Peter Brooker and Junaid talked about what to look for in a brand, the early reaction to their newly opened Marlow store, working with family, offering alternative services to drive footfall, using social media, and future plans for a skincare and shaving line.

“We like to think of ourselves as timeless. We focus on good product; we don’t look for things that are in one season and then out the next. We're attracted to timeless classics that are well made and people just love to buy. In recent years we’ve worked hard on our own brand too. We’re focussing on growing it organically, offering it alongside our multi-brand offering which is what the business started out with.”
